This week St Mary's archery squad attended the first Archery tournament of the year! The weather wasn't on our side for the walking involved but it certainly didn't dampen our team spirit and determination. 

Year 3 and 4 had a wonderful morning with some amazing scores for their teams. It was Year 3's first experience of a tournament; they took it all in their stride. Year 4 played superbly and finished with a 1st place victory. Huge congratulations to Zachary who also came third in overall individual score. All teams finished in high ranking out of the 13 teams they faced. A fantastic job, well done! 

Years 5 and 6 took on some tough teams across the tournament. They held their nerve, remained calm and focussed leading them to a 2nd place finish and only 2 points off from the winners. This tournament consisted of 16 teams. All four of our teams finished with their heads held high and only just missed out on a 3rd and 4th place finish for another 2 of our teams. 

Our 1st place and 2nd place finishing teams will move onto the next stages of the event in the Spring Term.
