Grow 10

This academic year, St Mary’s School Council has an ambitious campaign to raise £6,000 to upgrade all of our school computing equipment and our school hall sound system. This technology is at the heart of everything we do – it is not just used in our ICT lessons, but in pretty much every curriculum subject, as well as our daily collective worship.  Sadly, over the last few years our computing equipment is starting to show its age – getting slower and slower and offering less and less functionality compared to the very latest computing technology. Therefore, the School Council now feels it is the perfect time to upgrade all of our equipment so that all of our pupils can enjoy the advantages of the most   up-to-date computing equipment in our ever-evolving technological world.

Therefore, today your child will have come home from school with a small brown envelope containing a £1 coin and an information sheet and QR code for their class, telling you about our new Grow10 Fundraising initiative, which will be run and facilitated by our School Council this term.  Each class has its very own fundraising page.

Grow10! is an exciting new fundraiser for all of our pupils. We need your child to use their creativity and their entrepreneurial skills to turn £1 into £10 and help their class raise £300! If every class reaches their fundraising target, we will raise a massive £2,100 which will go directly towards some new computing equipment for our pupils, including new laptops, iPads and Chromebooks as well as a fantastic new sound system for our school hall!

Can your child help their class to smash the target and make even more money? The School Council thinks they can!

So… What do we do?

* With the start-up £1 (given to every one of our pupils by the School Council) each child will need to generate as much income as possible to grow their money & make as much profit as they can. At the end of this fundraiser (on 29th November 2024) all profits are then returned to the school to help us reach our £2,100 target!

* Profits can be reinvested by each pupil (or group of pupils) to generate more income and more profits

* Children can work on their own or together with their classmates to pool their money and raise their profits

 If each child grows their £1 to make £10 then each class will reach their Grow10 target of £300!

To collect and donate your child’s profits

 There are two ways to do this online:

 1.      Add your profits to the class pot by donating directly to your child’s GoodHub class page (which you can access using the QR code on the information sheet provided inside the brown envelope along with your £1 coin. You can also share the QR code with friends and family so they can donate too

 2.      Set up a mini-campaign page that links directly to your child’s class page.  Just click on the red "Fundraise" button ON YOUR CHILDS CLASS PAGE BELOW. Then follow the instructions to create a personal page. Children can write their own text, add pictures, and promote their idea here. They can also share their personal QR code or page link with friends and families so they can donate. All money raised on your child’s personal campaign page will feed directly into their class total. Families will also be able to donate cash or make a one-off payment on School Money (please speak to a member of the school office team if you need more information on payment).
