UNIFORM POLICY
At St Mary’s, we have a simple school uniform to ensure the children are smart and tidy and wear suitable clothing for school. Please ensure all items of clothing that come to school are clearly labelled with your child’s name.

*Sweatshirts/cardigans/PE shirts may be purchased at Gray Palmer on the High Street.
Plain purple jumpers and plain purple t-shirts can be worn whilst you wait for your order.
We have a large selection of pre-loved items available in school, please speak to the School office in the first instance or email your request to info@st-maryscofe.essex.sch.uk
Please note that PE garments should not have large logos (eg Adidas or Nike).
Shoes:
All pupils should wear plain black shoes, not trainers.
Coats
Please make sure in colder weather your child brings a coat to school.
Haircuts:
Strictly no hair dye or shaved symbols into hair. No ponytails at the front of the head and please only use plain black/purple/white hairbands and hairclips.
Jewellery:
- No jewellery other than an analogue or digital watch and one plain stud earring in each earlobe is acceptable.
- A Smartwatch of any variety must NOT be worn at school.
- For health and safety reasons earrings are to be removed prior to PE/sport. If your child is unable to remove their own earrings they should not be worn to school on that day.
In view of this, if your child is having their ears pierced, this should only be done at the beginning of the summer holidays, thank you for your support in this matter. Parents will be contacted immediately if the above Uniform Policy is not followed.

Please could you send your child/ren into school wearing their Forest School clothes/PE kits.
