Full guidance on staying at home and School Closure Update 24.03.2020
CORONAVIRUS HELPLINE 0800 046 8687
Thank you for your support and patience during this period which is new territory for us.
Please take note of the following points:
- The government advice is that if your child displays any of the symptoms (high temperature and/or continuous cough), they must remain at home for 7 days. Please let us know through the normal absence procedures.
- We will review our staffing every day and be flexible with our arrangements to try and remain open. However, if we do not have adequate staffing levels to ensure the safety of students, it may be necessary to close. We would follow the same procedure as we would for a snow day. Parents would be emailed via Teachers2Parents before 7.30am and a notice will be posted on our school website. https://www.stmaryssw.org.uk/coronavirus-updates/
- If your child is showing symptoms whilst in school, a member of the school leadership team will speak to them and be in contact with you to make suitable arrangements.
We will continue to update you from the Department for Education. Please see below the latest advice on what to do if you need to self-isolate.
We will continue to ensure St Mary’s remains a calm learning environment, with student’s well being at the centre of our decisions.
Mr C D Jarmain
We are continuing to follow advice from Public Health England in respect of Coronavirus.
We have not been put on alert to close and at present we have no plans to close the school for any additional time.
We are working closely with the Local Authority and if we are advised differently by Public Health England and the Department for Education to close, we will inform parents and carers immediately.
